Logistics Manager (Upstream)

About The Logistics Manager (Upstream) Role
Due to excellent results and future expansion plans, the Logistics Manager (Upstream) will play a key role in managing the country logistics plan and operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the entire supply chain, including procurement, transportation, warehousing, distribution, and inventory management
- Monitor and optimise inventory levels to ensure efficient stock management and prevent stockouts or overstock situations
- Coordinate and optimise transportation routes, modes, and carriers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods
- Manage warehouse operations, including layout, organisation, and efficient utilisation of space. Ensure accurate picking, packing, and shipping of products
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and service providers to ensure reliable and efficient supply chain operations
- Identify cost-saving opportunities within the logistics process, negotiate contracts, and implement strategies to reduce operational expenses
- Supervise and lead a team of logistics and warehouse personnel, providing direction, training, and performance management
- Continuously evaluate and enhance logistics processes, implementing best practices to optimise efficiency and streamline operations
- Identify potential risks or disruptions in the supply chain and develop contingency plans to mitigate them
- Ensure compliance with local and international regulations related to transportation, import/export, and safety standards
- Collect and analyse logistics data to track key performance indicators (KPIs), generate reports, and provide insights to support decision-making
To succeed in this Logistics Manager (Food Commodity) role, you must be able to articulate strategy to operational teams.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field
- Seven years’ experience in logistics or supply chain management roles, with a proven track record of managing successful operations
- Familiarity with the specific industry’s logistics requirements and challenges, including regulations, customs procedures, and market dynamics
- Strong leadership and management skills to effectively lead a team and collaborate with cross-functional departments
- Ability to analyse data, identify trends, and make informed decisions to optimise logistics processes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders
- Proven ability to solve complex logistical challenges and make quick decisions in a dynamic environment
- Familiarity with logistics software, warehouse management systems (WMS), and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
- Proficiency in Indonesian and English languages, both written and spoken, may be required for effective communication
